Not sure if I agree completely with this article, but the comment from reader “Brian” is right on about how important elevation is when living in Managua. We are at 300 meters or about 1,000 feet elevation and when you get near to our farm it really starts feeling cooler.
I gather the above is a “highland” spot…check below to see what a real elevated spot looks like (i.e. El Porton Verde!)

The article mentions Santo Domingo as one of the best neighborhoods. Well we are basically uphill from Santo Domingo. Actually from the guest rooms we face south towards Ticuantepe and Veracruz. However, from the other end of the farm, we have the view all the way down to Lake Managua! So if you really want a naturally cool spot in Managua near all the happening restaurants, shopping, hospitals, etc. I really think we have a fabulous location.
