What is our general location?

This farm stay property is known in the neighborhood of Comarca San Antonio Sur as “Finca El Portón Verde.” We are a very unique and quite small guest house offering in Nicaragua’s capital city of Managua. My family and I work and live on a small (eight acre) organic permaculture farm located in the breezy hills south of Managua—overlooking Ticuantepe and Masaya, Nicaragua.

Here is our location on Google Maps:

Close to the Best of Managua

Our farmstay B&B is located just eight minutes from the modern Hospital Metropolitano Vivian Pellas, 10 minutes from the finest restaurants, shopping and entertainment of Managua, 25 minutes from the airport, 15 minutes to Masaya Volcano, 20 minutes to the artisan’s market of Masaya, 45 minutes to Granada, and 45 minutes to the nearest Pacific beaches.

More about our general whereabouts

We are within the city limits of Managua, on the extreme south end of town bordering Ticuantepe. If you are at all familiar with Managua you will have heard of “Carretera a Masaya” this is the main highway that goes from downtown Managua to the towns south of the capital such as Masaya, Granada, Rivas, San Juan del Sur, etc. We are at KM 10.5 of Carretera a Masaya, then from there, we are located about one mile southwest of the busy six lane highway.

  1. Am I reading your map correctly- Is the turn off at the gas station across the street from a police station? I haven’t been there in almost a year and I am working from memory. The tuktuks run up the hill from Caratera Masaya and into the neighborhood?

    • Hi Heather, yes you have it basically correct. The building across from the UNO gas station is the National Police Crime Lab, a big yellow building. If coming from Managua it is the second UNO gas station after passing the Galerias and SINSA on the right. Then from there yes the mototaxis take you up to the Farmstay. Just tell any of the guys “Finca El Porton Verde” and they should know where to take you. Have a safe trip and call me if you get lost. two 2 seven 9 nine 4 three 4 in the 505 country code.
